"hers are real, then yours are different cause danielle isnt a dumbass"Did I say anything about being a dumbass (although she didn't strike me as being a rocket scientist). Ah, last time I looked, brains were not located in breasts (synthetic or otherwise). Point is though, it was SOOOO tacky and culturally inappropriate to travel around the world's cultures sticking your breasts into everyone's faces in a sprayed on top. 9 out of 12 found this valuable. Maybe I confused the situation by saying the boobs looked false - frankly I don't give a shit. My point was it is CULTURALLY inappropriate to go to many of the places she went to showing so much breast and in a very figure hugging top. My point wasn't that she used them, my point was that it was offensive - but then maybe none of you have ever travelled and if so don't consider the sensibilities of the countries you visit either.

well what was she going to wear a sweater when it was plus 10000000000000000 degrees in malaysia and other hot places they went. the only appropriate thing was a tank top which was close to what she was wearing. and it was a sport shirt its not like she bought it at a slutty shop

Well actually, totally, NO. In fact, as it turns out, I lived in Malaysia for many years and a great many of the people there are Muslim or Hindu. Actually the Batu Caves, where they climbed up the stairs in the race, is a Hindu temple inside and what she wore was absolutely and entirely inappropriate. What was she supposed to wear? Something that covered her arms and chest. That could be made of light cotton. You mirror what the locals wear. Only a total moron would counter the argument by suggesting a sweater....enough said.

exactly thank you this person just has somehting against danielle. What was Danielle suppose to do? Make the producers tell her where they will be going on the race so she can buy clothes, thats ridiculous they have no clue where they are going on the race. It was hot she wasnt going to wear clothes that cover up her whole body she would be sweating like a bull, dehydration, and slack from running. The people who live there are USE to it, they know how to cope. She was there for not even a day, give her a break. On the race she wore what she knew she would be comfortable in to race.

I wonder where you all live? USA by any chance? I give up. These responses show the absolute naivety and arrogance that many Americans display in other countries; hence the stereotype of the '"Ugly American" traveller. The very fact that 'they have no clue where they are going on the race' would indicate to me that you pack something for all situations. A thin cotton long sleeve top is not heavy or problematic in any way. Like, she brought clothes for cold climates; why not bring something for hot climates where the cultural and religoius sensitivities mean you shouldn't show your tits to anyone who wants to look. Danielle was representing her country in other coutries. The people who live there are used to it, that's true, and I have heard what they say about it. Believe me, it's not respectful. But then if you don't care what other countries think of you, then fair enough, your country is vastly superior after all. Yes I do have something against Danielle; she was culturally ignorant.

Americans dont have any negative thoughts on other countries, they live how they want to live, and they respect how other people live in other countries. Well shes not gonna pack a whole suitcase, last time i ran in a sweater it was ridiculous im not going to be running around in a sweater and heavy pants. She wore what was comfortable to run in. You dont go on the Amazing Race for "cultural and religoius sensitivities" wherever you go you go, whatever your wearing your wearing. Its not the time to be like Oh snap were in this country GOT TO CHANGE so i dont disrepect people, who gives a crap, your in a race and not to impress people. Give her a break. Im defending Danielle because what you are saying is ridiculous and pointless

Oh dear, ROFL, "Americans dont [sic] have any negative thoughts on other countries". That's the most stupid thing I have read for a very long time. Especially followed by "they live how they want to live" - ummm, in case you didn't notice, those two statements are just a little contradictory. You go running around in a sweater and heavy pants do you? That's a little bit strange... you also have no clue how to spell or punctuate; hence I assume your defence of cultural insensitivity means you are young, poorly educated, have never been outside of USA or all of the preceding. Oh, and a final word, none of the other women - including the tedious beauty queens - dressed so inappropriately, so why is it defensible for Danielle to do so?

Cool it both of you you're both entitled to your opinions. However if Danielle did show a lot of cleavage in Malaysia, a Muslim country, why wasn't she stopped by the local police for that offence? 9 out of 9 found this valuable. Do you? |

Lol yah like lunchan said we have different opinions w.e. Just leave it at Danielle wanted to wear what she wanted to wear. And as for the punctuation crap I dont care how i use it on the computer, i only use it at school. I dont waist my time doing perfect punctuation on the computer, its not like im writing a damn essay. So we have different opinions on Danielle's choice and just leave it at that

So you are still at school, no wonder you have an immature way of looking at things. Just because Lunachan thinks that police stop people from wearing things in moderate muslim countries (which is almost as naive as most of your postings) doesn't mean you are right. One day when you grow up you will have a choice of travelling around the world being insensitive and looking like an arrogant superior American, or trying to be sensitive to the local culture. That's a choice; but you need to be concious of it before you can make it. Danielle clearly wasn't aware at all, or maybe she just wanted her curvacious figure to be shown on global TV in the hope of gaining future exposure, without a care about what people thought of her: she wouldn't be the first and she won't be the last. That fact doesn't make it admirable.

Well its nice to know that you are older than me and your still being imature about this and still fighting after i said we have different opinions like everyone else so just let it go. I dont know if your jealous of Danielle but you obviously are maybe you cant face the fact that she's hot and maybe your not. Also your making it seem like your the one right, im not saying im right either we have different opinions. So maybe you should be the "grown up" here and face that we have different ways on Danielle's choice that she made.

A lot older, I suspect, to the point where being 'hot' is laughable. Actually, having a difference of opinion and debate is a healthy thing, not a sign of immaturity. You will find that when and if you get to university, INFORMED debate is encouraged, not discouraged. Danielle made a choice, it was the wrong choice from an intercultural perspective: any other viewpoint is at best naive and possibly enthnocentric /perochial. Person x could make a choice to murder someone, that doesn't make it acceptable in most people's terms.
BTW, the conjunction of [you] and [are] is you're, not your. No it's not pedantic grammar, it just plain doesn't make any sense. 6 out of 6 found this valuable. Do you? |
