I was happy to see them get eliminated from the race, they are poor but they can go to the city and work there and stop crying about the fact that they are poor and want a better life for their 3 children. 1  out of 44 found this valuable. Do you?

Do you realise how much a coal makes?? most jobs start out at $22.50 an Hr. It's one of the most dangerous jobs in the world ..and I have watched both races with them & they have NEVER said they were poor! I live in KY and yes we have shoes, large modern cities, and we dont handle snakes in church? 3  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

I don't think they are so "poor" since appearing on TAR! I heard Mary comment on their video, just before she and hubby started on All Stars, that Rosie O'Donnell had given them a house and a car after they were eliminated from the first race they participated in. I would think that takes them out of the "poor" category, if he still has his coal miner's job, then they have nothing much to worry about except the every day struggles that all of us face, getting their kids raised, etc. Nobody gave my husband and I anything when we were raising our kids, and believe me, when you are an average American, buying a house is a major accomplishment, and a struggle to accomplish when you are a young couple with children, and do not come from a wealthy family background, but we managed it on a very average salary, without help from anyone, so I do not feel the least bit sorry for these two. They lucked out and got a lot for nothing because of being on TAR. Now if they are smart enough to take care of what they were givien.....and go on from there to better themselves. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

are you kidding me???? i cant really believe what you are saying. david and mary love each other, love their kids, and want the best for their kids- they want their kids to see the world. last time i checked, wanting the best for your kids was an ADMIRABLE trait and noting like how you are seeing it. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Did I say it is strange to want what is best for your kids? I don't think so! I only said that I do not feel sorry for David and Mary, and I don't, as I feel they are very lucky that a celebrity like Rosie gave them a house and a car. You have to admit that is a little out of the ordinary and does not happen to most average american couples very often. If every deserving, hard working couple in America got that kind of help, I am sure we all would be very grateful for the help, and I hope these two are, also. I don't feel that I said anything derogative about these two and I don't recall mentioning their children, one way or another. And I do hope that they put the best interest of their children above all else! And did I say that they do not love each other? Again, I think not! I did not question nor even mention their relationship with each other. Somehow or other you completely misconstrued my comments. Go back and reread my letter. And I would never kid you, believe me! i was responding to chayo, not you, aphia. sorry for the confusion. I agree with pretty much what you are saying. I just thought that chayo's comment was extremely derogatory and close-minded.

Thank you, Recycle, for clearing it up. I did wonder how your comment pertained to what I had originally written, but since the Website put it in my "box" I assumed you were referring to my comment. Sorry for the mix-up. Mary and David were not my favorite team, mainly because of Mary, she just did not appeal to me personally, but I would not say anything bad about her as a person, in every day life and her relationships with her friends and neighbors, she may be very likeable, but she did not come over as likeable at all to me, but that is just me, others may have loved her. Her husband, on the other hand, was very, very likeable, I would not mind seeing him on another Amazing Race, without Mary, which is impossible since they are married to each other. But I don't want to see her face again! She really needs to have her teeth cleaned, maybe she has by now.

yeah... i think that was my fault. i should have quoted the other person. and, yes, mary does seem to beat up on david a lot, but i really like her. I like both of them. It really touched me how much they seemed to enjoy the race and all that it had to offer to them and all that it opened their eyes up too, especially in their first race.

Yes, I am sure that they have a lot of fans out there, and they do have a lot of courage to get involved in TAR. I know that I would not have the guts to tackle something like that, and you have to give them credit for trying, especially since they seem the least equipped of all the teams for international travel. Recycle you are "right on" I wish David and Mary only the best. They are "real people." If the world had more of them we wouldn't be in this mess.

How cruel -- you really like to get down low don't you Alphia Lark??? Do you know how much it costs for dental work????? Obviously you must be a "spoiled brat." I'll bet your parents are "really proud" of you. (that is a big cut-down in case you aren't smart enough to figure that out)

What a stupid answer your "Reply " is! Yes, I am a 70 year old "spoiled brat." I wish!!!!!!!! No, I was never a spoiled brat, not even when I was a child and lived with my very poor parents and I was the oldest of eight children back when America was just beginning to recover from the depression, so there was every opportunity to be spoiled in that era. You are so stupid yourself, and have to be very young which is no crime in itself, but to write such a shallow reply to something you evidently don't have the brains to even understand shows how very unintelligent you are. Sincerely, Alphia 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

For your information, I am "60 years young" and I still think you are a spoiled brat -- or maybe you are just feeling sorry for yourself -- again, back to my first comment -- jealous are we????

Well, all I can say is you sound like a fool, not a "60 year young" person, but then, stupidity has nothing to do with age. You do not have a good grasp of the English language, evidently, since all you can think of to write is "you're jealous" and "you're a spoiled brat." You keep repeating these statements, so I take that as a sign that you are not very intelligent. And anyway what has poor unattractive Mary have for anyone to be jealous of? If Rosie felt so sorry for them that she gave them a house and an automobile, then they must have been very hard up, wouldn't you say? I am praising Rosie here for her generosity but I still think David and MAry were very lucky to have someone give them what the rest of us has earned on our own. But then, perhaps they don't have the intelligence to earn a living on their own, same as you. You are certainly a hate ridden, desperately unhappy person to keep on sending replies to me about something that you clearly don't understand. If you will read my comments, you will see that you completely missed the point and misconstrued what I said originally. However, with your limited intelligence and poor grasp of the English language, you won't understand it anyway. I bet you got bad grades in reading and comprehension in school, but of course, I know you won't admit it, but then, you don't have to, what you write speaks for that. So don't bother to "Reply" because I do not know you nor do I care what you think. And I would be proud to be a "spoiled brat" like Paris Hilton!!!
You are not even discussing the subject at hand, you are just attacking soemone you know nothing about. Alphia

Actually I didn't think Mary and David would last long in TAR All-Stars. Why? They expected to led by the hand by the others like the Cho Brothers did in TAR10. They didn't learn to depend on themselves which teams are supposed to do even in an alliance. In the past there are teams who did agree to share information but when it came to Detours and Roadblocks you are on your own. That was one lesson they never got to learn. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
