Why Canadians cant compete on The Amazing Race and what they should do

In a sit-down interview with Phil Keoghan and CTV, Phil tells us all why we can't compete on the amazing race:"Of all the countries in the world, there are bigger fans of the "Amazing Race" in Canada than any other country. When I go to Canada, I have to put on a disguise. They love the show there with a passion that is truly extraordinary. In terms of Canadians competing, the best thing to happen would be for CTV to do their own version. For our show, people don't think of the legal aspects of having a Canadian compete. For instance, what laws are the Canadians running under? American laws? Canadian laws? Then, what happens when a Canadian turns up to a passport control? What if one team has an American passport and the other has a Canadian passport? Who is going through faster? I think the person with the Canadian passport. The guy from Switzerland on our crew is always through the gate first. We have a few Canadians, and boom, they're through. American passports are tough passports to travel on in some places. I'm not saying it's not going to happen, I'm just saying it's not as easy as "Let us in, were Canadians, just let us slip in there." What I think they should do is host a first 500 person casting in Toronto for each team of 2 to tell them why they should be on the Amazing Race. Then they can select ONE canadian team and the others will be American. I also think that they should add the stipulation that if the Canadian team does win, they will donate the money to a Charity of their choice. People will ask "why compete if not for the money?" For the thrill and the love of the show. I know i would still love to travel all around the earth on an epic race and say you got to go on the amazing race as well as being the first Canadian on the team. Just my opinion though...... 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

Or they could put a Canadian with an American, that way they still have to wait to get through customs even if the Canadian gats out miles ahead. My cousin & I for an example (He lives in Ky.) If the Americans took longer to do somthing for some reason, it would be no benefit to me because I'd have to wait for him anyways. (I always think we'd be great on the show, but were not real rating pullers)

We would probably get eliminated though if they made us eat something disgusting cos my mum has no chance in hell of eating something weird lol We would make the impact though Do you find this valuable? |

"You mightent be a real rating puller but my mum and I would lol people would either love or hate us I think we would literally dance our way through the competition making everything fun and entertaining.yeah i always wanted to apply with my little sister, but thats years off until were old enough. i would definately make her do all the eating cause i do not have a strong stomach lol. I'd do the puzzles and she would be the navigator. We are both physically fit so we could handle to physical challenges no problem. I'm not so sure if we would we good tv or not though Do you find this valuable? |

"yeah i always wanted to apply with my little sister, but thats years off until were old enough. i would definately make her do all the eating cause i do not have a strong stomach lol. I'd do the puzzles and she would be the navigator. We are both physically fit so we could handle to physical challenges no problem. I'm not so sure if we would we good tv or not though"Yea I don't know if we would to either they would probably hate us lol like I always say if I went on it I wouldn't fight or anything but I probably would end up fighting with her haha lol Do you find this valuable? |

I think we need to convince CTV to make a Canadian version by convincing them that it will pay off for them. They already have an Asian version! We need to get our chance to compete on the amazing race!!

I love living in my town, its got a small town mentallity and my entire family lives here (extended and all). It's very senic and I've got a great future ahead of me here, so I don't know if I would ever leave. Do you find this valuable? |
