Lets get some funny people next time..remember the clowns?

I really enjoy the show and liked all three pairs in the end. But so many pairs now are just pretty people, usually who argue too much. I miss the hippies, and the clowns. I felt this season was boring compared to other seasons. I'd like to see more real people,
I also liked the sppedbump this season. A breakaway from away taking all the money.

I agree with your sentiments. The main thing that I felt was missing from season 12 was humor. I hope they’re casting people with good senses of humor for season 13. They don’t necessarily have to cast professional funny people like clowns. I got a lot of laughs from Kevin and Drew and Oswald and Danny because I thought that they were just naturally funny. And a sense of humor means more than just saying funny things. Someone with a good sense of humor can put things in perspective and deal with adversity better than someone who is too serious. I guess including some bickering couples like Nate and Jen isn’t a bad idea. It can be fun to have teams that you love to hate, but it would be nice if they were balanced out with funny teams.

I also think that the speed bump is a great way to handicap teams who come in last during non-elimination legs. Forcing teams to beg for money, especially in poor countries, was insensitive. And forcing them to come in first place on the next leg or face a long penalty didn’t add excitement to the race.

I thought this season got off to a slow start but picked up the excitement about a third of the way through. That is not good if you are trying to capture new viewers. It is still the best show on tv though.
I would like to see a "Meet the Racers" show. It would be a half hour show that would introduce us to the teams before the race begins. It could be on tv or online. They could put them through a couple of challenges so they could earn extra money for the race or some other type of "credits". We never seem to get attached to the first couple of teams that are eliminated. Bilal and Siaad(spelling?) never got to the first Pit Stop so it was hard to root for them. They seemed like nice guys but we couldn't tell. Or make the first leg a nonelim. That would also be a way to extend the show which I am all in favor of.
I also agree that they need to pick more real people for the teams. People like my wife and I(hint, hint). NO MACTORS!!! Let them get acting jobs from some other source.

While I do agree bickering couples do add to the show ( remember Jonathon and Victoria), We , my husband, my daughter and myself, were so tired of Nate & Jen that all of us cheered when they left. People with a good sense of humor would be a welcome come back.

I was also tired of Nate and Jen and cheered when they left, but having them to root against probably made it a more exciting show.

Pretty people?, the winners are very hippie type not bad looking but not the conventional pretty, neither of the grandpa's or their off springs are really pretty. Rather than the blonds and the sisters and angry blond couple the race was not a bunch of pretty people. I'd say 50/50.
I don't think all the teams should made by peculiar persons.

I agree with you that not all were pretty people. What I said was that many are. I think that through out the different seasons, including this one, there does seem to be a higher amount of models, or those in that profession or could be. It would be a nice balance to add people who dealt with stress with humor. Or adding pairs that seemed like they could be your next door neighbor. Although it seems to work with many reality shows, there's a formula ie cute blonde girls, bickering couple, gay couples, older couple etc etc. TAR is successful enough that it would be great to see them change it up a bit more. It took me longer to get into this season because quite frankly, I found most of teams less interesting than in the past. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

I agree that the producers need to pick teams that could be your next door neighbor, like my wife and I. We live in the Midwest, have 4 children and would make great racers as we are very outgoing, talkative, witty, and fun to be around. That is what the show needs. Some teams seem to be boring. They don't talk much or have a dynamic personality. While I liked Ray/Yolanda, they were a little boring.
I don't think that it hurts to have some "pretty" people on the show but it shouldn't be the only reason you get on the race. They need to have peronalities also.

ps. While I was writing this, my 2 year old son ran into another child at our daycare and bloodied his nose. So I had to stop and clean him and the floor up. See, I am a "real" person.
