Because they are SICK and TIRED of seeing posseurs take the place of ordinary folks like secretaries, hot dog vendors, court clerks. etc, etc. wanting a shot at a million bucks. Folks like YOU and me. Most of these MACTOR's just use their connections with past racers or other reality TV contestants to get into the show. (Ex. Freddy and Kendra know Derek and Drew) so they can get noticed. In short to them TAR has become The AUDITION Race. 13  out of 13 found this valuable. Do you?

Exactly. Just like Survivor has become a place for recruits to be on the show.

Recruits and "mactors" don't care about the show, they only care about getting their faces shown. And this absolutely includes past reality show participants trying to extend their 15 minutes of fame.

Run the race, do your best, get on with your lives, and let the next contestants in please.

AGREE!! I went to the open casting call and the whole time I was trying to figure out how some of the teams on the race made it there. What did they do to get noticed? How do you distinguish yourself from the other people in line? Being in the Midwest, there were a lot of "real" people there. But who would get picked from us? I guess it's "business as usual". I can't see NIck/Don doing something extrordinary in their interview to set them apart. Not taking anything from them. They seem real. But we do need more real people on the race and I think when they put real people on here, they are some of the most loved teams. Kentucky? Cho Bros? Uchena/Joyce?

This 2nd Season of TAR-Asia is even worse. Most of them are mactor's. One all male team are both TV hosts and a huge number of their fans are gung ho about them. 3  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?

I agree. Sounds to me like a lot of people are jealous. Nobody goes on a reality show unless they want 15 minutes of fame. If they don't admit that, THEY are the posers. Maybe they think it's unfair to make them compete against people with personality and brains but I thought that was the whole point?! The most important part of casting is to put people who are fun to watch. I think there are MANY people across America who DO have personality and make great contestants but there is also something special about the people who didn't fit in all across "middle America" and were brave enough to pack up and move to NY or CA to pursue their dreams. That is EXACTLY the kind of adventurous person I want to watch!
I don't care it they are hot dog vendors or secretaries but an unusual person, not afraid to speak his/her mind, not afraid to be laughed at etc. is what makes a good season. I have travelled and lived all over the world. Baseball Coaches DO focus on certain areas when recruiting because there's just more talent in some spots. There are more musicians in certain cities than others. That is a fact. Like attracts like. Southern California has an abundance of odd and interesting people. People are not focused on "fitting in". That's just a fact.

I too am sick of models, especially calling each other "baby". It could be that they are the only ones who can get the time off to run the race? Also, retired prople. 3  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?

I don't think actors need any more publicity or free worldwide travel... let the everyday folk have a shot at the
experience

And that is why Mactors treat it as The Audition Race. TAR-Asia 2 has a male team who are TV hosts in their home country and my goodness they can't shut up. It is obvious they want the exposure to boost their careers. Is that what WE as fan want for TAR even in the international versions? Hell NO!

This is exactally why CBS is going to pick me and my friend to be on the show. Sure I want my 15 minutes of fame, but to tell ya the truth I'm in it for more than that. I'd tell ya my reasons, but then I'd have to kill ya. HA! I am sooo real and NOT an actress. My friend and I have videotaped us on some of our travels, all natural and our friends are sooo entertained and say, "Wow this is like a movie, you two are sooo funny." America, you're gunna love us. Tell CBS we should for sure be on the Amazing Race. 0  out of 8 found this valuable. Do you?

I don't know HaloandHorns. You are looking a little long in the tooth for being the "hot blonde" team. I guess if your teammate is a good bit younger and prettier than you, you may get a chance. Although people will probably say the same thing about you that they said about Shana/Jennifer. That one is the mom and the other is the daughter. Good luck though. You do seem to have a good sense of humor. 2  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?
