Notes:
Leg 1: Eric & Lisa were eliminated at the starting line as they were unable to locate one of eleven license plates with a specific Japanese symbol in the first task.
Leg 1: Mika & Canaan arrived in 10th place, but did not have all of their tourists with them. They had to find their missing tourist before they could check in. This did not affect their placement.
Leg 1: Maria & Tiffany were issued a 2-hour penalty in Leg 1 for losing two of their tourists on the way to the Pit Stop; however, since they arrived in last and it was a non-elimination leg, the penalty time was assessed at the start of the following leg.
Leg 4: Zev & Justin initially arrived 1st, but discovered after being checked in that they were missing Zev's passport. They were allowed to search for the passport until the last team arrived at the mat. All other teams arrived at the mat before they returned, thus Zev & Justin were eliminated.
Leg 6: Mika & Canaan proceeded to the Pit Stop having failed to properly complete the Leap of Faith task. Already in last place, they were eliminated.
Leg 7: Brian & Ericka initially arrived 5th, but were issued a 30-minute penalty because they did not travel by bicycle to the Detour as instructed in their clue. This did not affect their placement.
Leg 7: Maria & Tiffany decided to quit the Detour and take the 24 hours penalty because they were unable to complete either Detour task. Since it was an elimination leg and they were already in last place, they were eliminated from the race.
Leg 11: Flight Time and Big Easy incurred a 4-hour penalty because Big Easy failed to complete the Roadblock and offered to take the penalty for his team. When they reached their next Route Marker, the clue instructed them to go directly to the Pit Stop where they were eliminated.
