Team Bio:
Pat and Brenda met at work about eighteen years ago, when Pat introduced Brenda to her future husband. When they both became mothers in 1987, they took backpacking trips together as a break from home and work responsibilities. Their combined strengths make them a strong Team: whereas Pat is a creative thinker and is not afraid to ask for what she wants, Brenda is laid back and likes to be organized.


RACE NOTES

RECAP:
-Caught a train to JFK Airport and got the last tickets on the first flight to South Africa.
-Missed out on getting on the first charter plane but settled for the second charter flight.
-Drove themselves to Victoria Falls and arrived their in 5th place.
-Overtook Lenny/Karyn and arrived at the detour in 4th place.
-Chose the Air detour.
-Completed the detour in 4th place.
-Got a bit lost on the way to the pit stop and checked in 5th place.

RECAP:
-Started the leg in 5th place.
-Couldn't find the Songwe Museum so decided to go for the fast forward.
-Arrived at the fast forward and went White Water Rafting.
-Won the fast forward
-Where on board the 2nd flight to France
-However they overtook the lead teams as they could go straight to the pit stop.
-Checked into the pit stop in 1st place.

RECAP:
-Started the leg in 1st place.
-Easily located the Roue de Paris with the locals help and arrived their in 1st place.
-Chose the Easy Walk detour.
-Had to wait until the building opened at 10:00am like all the other teams.
-Found out they went to the wrong pendulum.
-Finally found the right pendulum and completed the detour in last place.
-Arrived at the roadblock in last place.
-Pat completed the roadblock and completed it in last place.
-Where on the third train to Les Baux de Province with Dave/Margaretta
-Didn't take a shortcut by getting off at Avignon
-Checked into the pit stop in last place and where eliminated.

THEIR GAME
Strengths

  • Cannot run as fast as the other teams

  • Where unable to make up lost time after taking a wrong turn at the detour, which led to their elimination

  • Try and focus a bit more or racing than having fun

They where an alright team but lacked excitement as they didn't bicker or socialize with the other teams very much. Therefor I wish they had gone home in place of Kim/Leslie who had lots of excitement surrounding them but they where okay but nothing special.
