Detours(Places to See): Eat it or Pen it. In "Eat it", teams must find the Big Texan Steak Ranch and eat a 72 oz steak and all the fixins' in 1 hour (as it has been since 1960!) If they don't successfully complete this task, they must then complete "Pen it". For teams without the intestinal fortitude to consume 4.5 pounds of beef, they can drive 45 miles to the "Beef Capital of the World", Hereford, TX. There they will search the 26,000+ acres of scenic terrain to find the Lighthouse Trail where one of them will hike/bike nearly 6 miles roundtrip to the magnificent natural structure known as the Lighthouse. Pit Stop Ideas: Cadillac Ranch. No trip to Amarillo is complete without a visit to the world-famous Cadillac Ranch. Made famous in song (Bruce Springsteen) and film (Disney's "Cars"), teams will find 10 Cadillacs buried nose down in a field at the same angle as the Cheops Pyramid. The view from the highway to the cars is perfect for a dramatic ending to the pit stop of this leg of the race!
