Shongweni Dam - popular place for adventure sports. Could have a Detour choice between paddling a kayak across a part of the dam or abseiling down the dam wall.
Roadblock ideas: Phezulu is a place where Zulu culture is showcased, so you could have one of the contestants performing a Zulu rite or ritual. I'm not sure what though, as my knowledge of Zulu culture isn't that good.

The uShaka Marine World in central Durban lets visitors dive with the sharks, which is another idea for a Roadblock.
Pit Stop Ideas: Makaranga Lodge in Kloof. It's a five-star guest lodge complete with its own botanical garden.
Clues: The "Wall of Honour" is located near Drummond on the Old Main Road (R103). It commemorates the winners of the Comrades Marathon and is close to the halfway point along the route.

The old lighthouse at Umhlanga Rocks is another idea.
Notes: As far as getting to Durban is concerned, international flights only come in from Swaziland, Mozambique and Mauritius, so teams would have to catch an international flight to Johannesburg or Cape Town, then catch a domestic flight to Durban. Teams would more likely end up going via Johannesburg, as it is Africa's busiest airport and only an hour's flight away from Durban (Cape Town and Durban are two hours apart, and there aren't as many flights). Just hope that the teams don't end up spending days at Johannesburg airport again. :)

Public transport in Durban is a total shambles so the teams would need to be provided with a vehicle.

Hometown - Conakry Guinea- Joel

Drum it ( contestans learn how to use a traditional african hand drum and learn a simple rithm)
Roadblock ideas: "Maffe Hacko" A guinean plate. Contains rice on the bottom and a leaf sauce containing manioc or potato leafs

Shoe cleaning: Traditionally this is meant to be done by very poor people or young kids.
Pit Stop Ideas: The Islands (2km from cky by boat)-One of the Islands is names Rooum Islands. Stevenson based his book treasure island on this island.
Conakry locals take boats over to this group of islands for relaxing and swimming at the beaches

Mariador Palace

US Ambassadors house (lol)

Les Cascades de la Soumba (waterfalls/hotel 1.5hrs away from conakry. Very beautiful in September)
