The eight teams raced in and around Burkino Faso, where they were challenged with local traditions, including shaking their booties in a tribal dance as judged by local dance celebrities -- think African Idol. The crowd reactions to the dances were entertaining. Those who chose not to dance panned for gold. Teams were also asked to pack loads of junk onto a bicycle and peddle African-style to an obscure destination. All the teams (particularly Vyxsin and Kynt) were struck by the poverty they witnessed, as well as the open and friendly demeanor of the African people. The headline of the night was whenShana & Jennifer dropped the “U Turn” on Lorena & Jason, resulting in the couple's elimination from the race. Shana & Jennifer accrued some bad karma from the other racers and started fighting each other over the choice.  Episode Recap: Teams have to walk though to tribal chief and grab a chicken before he handle them the clues. After that they have to travel to Bouda Pelegtanga, a small town. opening their clue that is detour tasks. teams have to chose shake your pan or shake your your booty. next clue ask them to go to Pelegantanga market when they found a new twist to the race call the U-turn. then teams travel to Tampouy goat market when they open their clue for roadblock that ask a question who's is ready for a juggling act? |
 Detour: Shake Your Pan: Teams must choose one of these gold mining pits and then use the local panning methods to mine at least one ounce of gold, which they can trade for for their next clue. Nicolas & Donald and TK & Rachel chose the task. Lorena & Jason were U-Turned and also had to complete the task. Shake Your Booty: Teams must learn a traditional local dance, then they will perform the dance for a panel of local celebrities, but they must also include their own creative dance moves. If the judges are impressed, the teams will receive their next clue. However, if the judges aren't impressed, the teams will incur a 10-minute penalty. Nathan & Jennifer, Azaria & Hendekea, Ronald & Christina, Kynt & Vyxsin, Shana & Jennifer and Lorena & Jason chose this task. Written by: Vinzanity |
 Roadblock: In this Roadblock, one team member had to load several items onto a bicycle and deliver them to a marked stall where the vendor would hand them their next clue. Azaria, Jennifer (of Nathan & Jennifer), Vyxsin, Nicolas, Christina, Rachel, Shana and Jason completed this task. |

The teams continued to travel through Burkina Faso. The Detour was either dancing or mining for gold. It was fun to watch the teams dance, even if all of them didn't succeed with the judges.
Then afterwards came the first ever U-Turn. This meant that if a team was marked with a U-Turn, they would need to go back and complete the other Detour task they didn't do. Then came what was undoubtedly the most interesting part of this episode. Shana & Jennifer made the bold choice to U-Turn Lorena & Jason. I thought this was a really bad move for them. As T.K. said, it's going to put huge targets on them now. It was especially bad with them using it still early on in the race. Then after completing the Roadblock of riding a bicycle loaded with supplies to a shop, Azaria & Hendekea just narrowly beat Nathan & Jennifer for their third first place finish. But unfortunately for Lorena & Jason, the U-Turn and starting this leg later kept them back and were the fourth team eliminated from the race. It was too bad, I would of much rather seen Shana & Jennifer go instead. So what will happen next week? Well looks to be exciting, what with a bus careening towards Shana & Jennifer.
