| MAKE THE RACE COURSE BIGGER! It seems that since Season 11, the places the race visits have been less interesting with each new season. And the race distance and length of legs have been decreasing to ridiculous lows!! -Season 12: 4 continents, 10 countries, and ONLY 30,000 miles. -Season 5: 6 continents, 12 countries, and 72,000 miles. Season 10's backwards map was cool, but it was too small as well. The length of legs has also been decreasing since All-Stars began. Bring back legs like leg 6 (Greece) of Season 9! We don't want a starting mat, a Roadblock place, a Detour place, and a Pit Stop. Have more in between destinations like before Season 12. | ||
| Has any1 noticed that female teams always go out in india? They visit india way too much, and female teams are so disadvantaged because they are treated like second-class citizens. TAR 1 Legs 7&8 Nancy & Emily: 5th/6th then 5th/5th non-elim leg, but they were last TAR4 Legs 6&7 Monica & Sheree: 7th/7th eliminated Tian & Jaree: 5th/7th then 6th/6th eliminated TAR5 Leg 9 Kami & Karli: 4th/5th Linda & Karen 3rd/5th both saved due to Brandon & Nicole's big fast forward mistake TAR7 Leg 8 No female teams left TAR10 Leg 5 Dustin & Kandice 2nd/7th (they are just awesome!) Lyn & Karlyn: 5th/7th TAR12 Leg 8 No female teams left TAR13 Legs 6&7 Kelly & Christy: 2nd/6th non-elim leg then 6th/6th eliminated TAR14 Leg 6 Kisha & Jen 3rd/7th Jaime & Cara 5th/7th Christie & Jodi 7th/7th eliminated This shows that female teams generally finish behind and shows that TAR visits India too much! | ||
| I would love to see different countries race like an Olympic Race with countries like Australia in it who are very big on competition then I think you would have a race | ||
| More of the scenery, less of the drama b/w teams. The show is supposed to be a "race around the world". So the emphasis should be on showing more and more details of the locations, especially the exotic and secluded areas. We do not need to see the drama and feelings teams have of each other. Who cares which teams get along with each other? If you show more footage of the places, that will attract more tourists...which means more $ for the airlines (i.e. Travelocity), and for those little remote villages. | ||
| Well i have many ideas, like why they cut two episodes from the new season? It's a shame, it was great like it was, I mean like time. What I dislike is that many countries, like Bulgaria, Slovenia, Belgium, Ireland and many Asian countries are not being shown on the show, and only the top destinations are being showed mostly. I'm agree they are much faster to reach to, but in Bulgaria, we have many traditions, famous historical places and etc, Slovenia is rich in history and nature....should i go on? But the main point is that I don't understand why all contestants must be U.S citizens? Why no one make one Europe TAR? | ||
| Wonder if anyone from CBS will ever bother to read this long page of comments....but here's the improvement I've wished for since Season One: SHOW MORE OF THE TRAVEL. I'm not asking that the series deviate from their current editing style of a cutaway every couple of seconds (after all, this is not the Travel Channel) but the interest is in the locations the teams visit. The team members are secondary.....necessary, but really, few stand out as fascinating characters. There will still be plenty of time to watch someone pout or argue or have a meltdown. But to have teams whiz past some of the natural and man-made wonders of this world with just fleeting glimpses making the final cut just doesn't make any sense. A better balance in the editing room would make a far more satisfying program — and maybe CBS will go back to ordering two series a year instead of the one this year. Looking forward to seeing how Season 12 shapes up. | ||
| TAR American Style! I sent a packet to CBS including a video and supporting info for this great new idea a few months ago. I think teams should travel to destinations which include the hometowns of the teams themselves. This would allow each team an advantage somewhere along the race...assuming they haven't been eliminated already! Wouldn't it be great if a team could move from last place to first place if they are lucky enough to see familiar territory? I know some people might think that traveling in America isn't exotic enough (and hey, I would LOVE to see the world!), but this might improve your chances to win a million bucks! So, CBS...please dig my packet out of your trash bin and take a look at it! All I ask in return for this one-in-a-million idea is a chance to win a million! P.S. I think it would be interesting if you would allow individuals to apply and then have the producers pair them up. They could do it according to travel experience, athletic ability, etc. or just do it randomly and let the chips fall where they may! | ||
| More about the 'tasks at hand' and the places they visit... One of the creators, Elise D. says the show is about relationships. I disagree. I find TAR intriguing because of the places it visits and the challenges performed that are UNIQUE to each locale. Watching teams who casting associates know will devolve into bickering brats under the pressure of so much travel is plainly tedious. But editing seems to focus on this. Retrain your cameras pack to what makes TAR a great show: the rest of the world. | ||
| It's just not as Amazing as when it began Going back and watching my season 1 DVD and looking at the places they visited and the things they did, season 12 feels scaled down. Apart from the past few episodes, it never really got that wow factor going. After 2 legs in each season just compare what the contestants had done/seen:
The Arc de Triomphe vs. A yacht club. It's not just season 12, the locations have been getting worse over the past few seasons. Obviously they don't want the teams to be spotted etc. but I'd rather have a few spoilers surface and see some really great places than a bike parking lot. More fast forwards would be good, i mean at least 5 otherwise there isn't really much point having them. The Speed Bump is good, not sure about the U-Turn. And even though it's mentioned lots, for a show about the world, an international version would be very interesting to watch. | ||
| There should be one amazing race just in the United States just go to different landmarks try and hit all 50 states just to give it a local feel. | ||
| More Canadian Cities... | ||
| LET THE FANS IN ON THE FUN! This show has fans in many different corners of the world, and we both know our own countries and cities much better than the producers and scouts ever will. I'm pretty sure that most fans, just like I, have often thought "If TAR ever came to my city, they should do this as a roadblock, that for the detour, the pit stop could be here," etc. Race producers could hold a contest of sorts, where anyone with a suggestion could send it in, then choose from among those suggestions (I'd love for a public vote between fans, but don't know how this could be done and still keep the race destinations secret, but I'm sure something can be worked out). The race course could have a predetermined number of "fan legs". For example, two of ten legs could be supplied by fans. After finding out where those two legs would be, producers would just have to figure out the rest of the destinations. Of course, they would reserve the number of fan legs, but not necessarily their order. In this case, if both fan legs were to occur in the same continent, they might be placed consecutively, and if they are in very different locations, other legs could be used to "connect the dots", so to speak. What do you all think of this? | ||
| Visit The Oldest Cities In Chile, Like Viña Del Mar, Valparaiso, Concepcion, Arica, Iquique, Antofagasta, La Serena, Rancagua, Curico, Talca, Talcahuano, Temuco, Osorno, Valdivia, Puerto Williams Or The Chilean Antartic Province. Chile Have Beautiful Place... From Arica To Punta Arenas..... Visit Chile And Enjoy The Culture Of The Of The World Country.... | ||
| I think that TAR should visit PENNSYLVANIA because there had alot cool places like point state park, science center, museum . | ||
| TAR should go to Liechtenstein, very small, with little English, famous for their stamps. | ||
| The Race should be longer like the first few season with 13 legs..There should be 12 teams in each season as well... There should be 3 non-elimination legs...One leg should be a double-length leg.. | ||
| If there were 12/13 legs on a season of the Amazing Race..3 Legs should be in South America, 3/4 Legs In Europe, 3 Legs in Asia, 2 Legs In Oceania, 1 Leg in USA... (Australia, New Zealand) | ||
| They should travel to Lesotho, Estonia, Jordan... Season 13's two legs in one city...I like it | ||
| Over-all in TAR, I think India is visited around 40%... why?.. almost all key cities where visited.. just observe this since.. they are still so many Asian countries to be visited.. Maldives, Nepal, Bhutan, Brunei, Bharain, Qatar etc.. | ||
| I think TAR should visit places like Qatar (have Olympic-based challenges), Slovenia, Scotland, Belgium, Belarus, Libya, Denmark, Bahrain and Togo, or even somewhere at the South Pacific like Vanuatu. TAR can actually incorporate certain ideas from the challenges used in Survivor and test the teams in TAR with those challenges. For instance, test the teams how to make fire using natural materials if they visit Africa. Solve puzzles to the mystery destination or pit stop. Then if they visit China, do like an obstacle course where they will use drums to bounce a ball to a designated bin while navigating several obstacles. OR Transport a fireball using a pair of giant chopsticks. Then if they visit places like Czech Republic, Hungary, Greece or Romania, have some sort-of the warrior-themed challenge. Maybe like smashing a wall using a large wooden log then in the end solve a puzzle by twisting the log around. I know that these ideas may not be original as they are used as challenges in Survivor, but why not give it a shot. I think it'll be awesome. | ||
| The Amazing Race should visit Australia more often. The ideas that the producers have are good, but the should start thinking about this: if Australia had it´s own version of the Amazing Race, USA would probably be in every season. | ||
| Have a whole leg in the Final Destination. In an interview with Charla and Mirna, they said that they had a lead in Hawaii in the last leg, but they were equalized with the other teams because production told them they all had to take the same flight. I say: leave the flights for the beginning of the last leg. And I agree, they should leave a final Roadblock before the finish line in which teams had to remember details of the whole race (i.e. TAR 3 and TAR 9). | ||
| I agree with most ppl. TAR should do have the final Road Block before going to the finish line...that'll be more dramatic! The best final Road Block ever has to be from Season 12! It's so epic! TAR should more of that kind of Road Blocks, but change the requirements a little. One more thing, TAR from now on must have 12 teams and 3 non-elimination legs. 1 leg to a double-length leg, and 1 leg to be a double-elimination leg (due to an Intersection) Keep the U-Turn and Speed Bump, bring back the Yield and Intersection. Have more U-Turns and Yield stations. It's fun! | ||
| I thinkTAR has yet to see many of the south pacific islands and their unique history and beautiful culture. Places like Cook Islands, Fiji or French Polynesia should be visited | ||
| Visit some different countries. I have a great leg planned out for Bogota, Colombia and Caracas, Venezuela, and according to reliable sources, TAR 14 is visiting India AGAIN and spending 3 legs in China. I speak for TAR fans world-wide when I say WE NEED VARIETY! Indias 7 seasons so far v Australias 3. Australia has a HUGE TAR fan base and there are many places like Canberra and Hobart that TAR has not visited yet. Meanwhile some cities are bieng repeated. GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEADS, PRODUCERS | ||
| Leg 1: Caracas, Venezuela Leg 2: Bogota, Colombia Leg 3: Antwerp, Belgium (Olympic themed challenges) Leg 4: Belarus (Military-themed challenges like an obstacle course) Leg 5: Togo (Tribal themed challenges) Leg 6: Ethiopia (Tribal themed challenges / Olympic-themed challenges) Leg 7: Bulgaria Leg 8: Australia Leg 9: Islands of Vanuatu / Fiji Leg 10: Cochin, India Leg 11: Napyidaw, Myanmar Leg 12: China More race examples.... | ||
| Start: New Orleans, Louisiana Leg 1: Asuncion, Paraguay Leg 2: Villarrica, Paraguay Leg 3: Cairo, Egypt Leg 4:Algiers, Algeria Leg 5: Tallinn, Estonia Leg 6: Madrid, Spain Leg 7: Doha, Qatar Leg 8: San'aa, Yemen Leg 9: Langsa, Indonesia Leg 10: Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia Leg 11:Rangoon, Burma Leg 12: Belmopan, Belize End: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | ||
| Start: Dallas, Texas Leg 1: La Paz, Bolivia Leg 2: Sucre, Bolivia Leg 3: Arhus, Denmark Leg 4: Cadiz, Spain Leg 5: Palma de Mallorca, Palma Leg 6: Rhodes, Greece Leg 7: Tripoli, Libya Leg 8: Al-Marj, Libya Leg 9: Perth, Australia Leg 10: Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea Leg 11: Invercargill, New Zealand Leg 12: Cancun, Mexico Leg 13: Minneapolis, Minnesota | ||
| Maybe have 12 teams, and 13 legs... Leg 1: Asuncion, Paraguay to Villarrica, Paraguay (Double length, 1 elimination) Leg 2: Bogota, Colombia Leg 3: Sucre, Bolivia Leg 4: Tunis, Tunisia Leg 5: Barcelona to Zaragoza, Spain (Double length) Leg 6: Czechoslovakia Leg 7: Tripoli, Libya Leg 8: Slovenia Leg 9: Abu Dhabi to Doha, Qatar (Double length) Leg 10: Bangkok, Thailand OR Burma OR Philippines (since they have not visited it since season 5) Leg 11: somewhere in Australia (Double length) Leg 12: Taipei Leg 13: Back in USA | ||
| Go to Australia again! And no more going to India please. | ||
| go back to Paris, France | ||
| Visit a bunch of new countries and stop going back to the same countries Bring back the double length legs and make it 13 legs instead of 11 Visit at least 10 or 11 different countries in a season | ||
| HAS SINGAPORE FORGETTEN TO BE VISITED?! | ||
| RETURN TO PERU!! PERU IN TAR 15 | ||
| What about going to non-traditional tourist destinations like Venezuela...? There are amazing places down there and the people are so welcoming and warm! Like Canaima -The Lost World of Arthur Conan Doyle, The Andes or the Plains, the Highlands and the beaches, the islands... | ||
| Is anybody noticing what they are doing with TAR? 230 countries to visit and India has been visited in 8 seasons, 2 of those seasons had 2 legs in India. Meanwhile, many great countries like Australia, Colombia, Cuba and Malaysia are being left out. Are there any cities left in India? In Australia we have, Sydney, Perth, Darwin, Alice Springs, Hobart, Brisbane, Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide and even Wollongong (don´t know where it is? I live there. It´s great) have populations of people just DYING for TAR to go to Australia. So, producers, if you even read these, consider Australia, or are you afraid that the cities are too hard for the Americans to cope with. | ||
| Please Visit Bandung, Indonesia. Because, There is "Pasar Baru" that consists of up to 7 floors. Some floors consist of a lot of stands more than 100 stands each floor. This place is very crowded. So, If The Roadblock is performed there, it will be intersting. I have another suggestion. Travel on feet, bus, etc. is very common. I think "Angkot" will be an interesting transportation to reach the Pit Stop. There are a lot of kinds of "Angkot". Each kind of "Angkot"s has its own destination. It means that every Angkot has the different destination. It will be interesting if we see the contestants are confused to face their next destination. You, know, up to 50 kinds of Angkot are available here. Interesting, isn't it? | ||
