How about an international competition.? Select real people from different countries to race against one another. This would give the race an added dimension similar to the competition created when the Olympics is on. Even if they had to speak English as a first language, you could still have a fantastic show. Get rid of the mactors and put in some Australians, Canadians, English, South Africans, and so on. Make the race a truly amazing international competition! At the moment the show is wallowing in pretty Americans showing why the rest of the world thinks most of them should never leave home.
Seriously, why not have a race where 6 Canadian teams vs. 6 USA teams. Canada vs. USA CANADIANS WANT TO ENTER
Amazing Race - Champions Edition Bring back all the winning teams from past seasons and make them compete against each other. Has anybody suggested this idea before?
ARE the producers listening - CANADIAN edition - you have a Philippines edition. If you let Canadians compete, think of the currency savings... If some Canadian marketing company is reading this... think of all the viewers and advertising revenues - create a Canadian show.
Celebrity race (Bob Barker and David Letterman????). I love the camera showing Elimination station and the Pit Stop cam. I like the continuous legs. Have teams that do not have an existing relationship, don't even know each other.
Why not randomly mix up the teams at the beginning of the race? Imagine the dynamics that would occur from people having to work with strangers, learn their personalities, strengths, weaknesses, watch their original partners get eliminated, etc. Of course, this would be a complete surprise to the cast until the race begins.
I did not enjoy the reunion, new participants make it more interesting than ones that have already done it plus the winners should not be allowed back, give someone else a chance.
I think a lot of these ideas are great! I particularly like the idea about having a "Teachers" edition that is specially designed for educators. Think about it...teachers, principals, secretaries, counselors...HILARIOUS! Teachers are FULL of drama and work harder than any profession! There is also a HUGE world of educators working for International Schools--Americans--who already have a love and zest for traveling! I think it is a FABULOUS idea.
To begin with, I love this show and I can't wait to see more. Now my suggestion for improvement is to have an International Season. Have each team from a different country (especially New Zealand as that's where I am!). The Amazing Race is a fantastic opportunity and I think it should be available for people other than Americans especially as other countries watch the show and have the teams visit them too. Come on Phil! You're from NZ, give us a chance!! Posted by Tazah
Not sure why CBS has to play the gay angle on the amazing race. Enough with all the gay people - where are all the straight people in America to be put on the amazing race. With 300million people living in America not sure why we always have to see people on CBS reality shows that are open gays. It must be for CBS to shock us into believing that being gay is OK. Guess what, my bible reads a man should take a woman and go out and multiply. You cant go out and multiply being the same sex. I wish CBS would keep it in their own bedroom and not on my television tube. I bet CBS wont post this.
Keep the gays! I love the diversity among the contestants and have very much enjoyed all the gay couples. Don't fiddle too much with the original formula of the show! This formula works...I like the minor rule changes. I love the more creative challenges where the contestants have to solve a riddle or work out a puzzle. Keep the "impoverished areas". Some of the most interesting and touching scenes happen when the contestants are thrown off balance by the difference in cultures. Don't eliminate the equalizers. I "get" the frustration of working up a half-day lead only to have it lost while waiting for transportation, but the alternative would be a field strung out over several days, unable to catch up and a "sure bet" winner. No thanks, keep them together. More "real" people. I loved the couple from Kentucky, the bowling moms, Teri and Ian. I would HATE to see a TAR full of models with perfect teeth. First leg non-elimination? The first "leg" seems to be a couple of days long. It would be a nice treat to occasionally see the first pit stop be a non-elimination. Losing the money is a loser. Definitely. I HATE seeing the rich Americans begging for money and/or losing all their stuff. Does their need to be a penalty for not being eliminated? No celebrities. Real people rock! How about a "move to the head of the line" prize for winning one of the challenges. Kind of like a get out of jail free card, this would entitle a team to move to the head of any queue that forms at a challenge (like when teams have to wait for a plane to take them skydiving or whatever).
The gay couples make for good, and controversial TV. It wouldn't be an Amazing Race without one (Can ANYONE recall an amazing race without a gay couple???). My complain this season is everyone is from Southern California. What's up with that Bertrand? Too lazy to go looking for real Americans, you have to use 4 or 5 teams of aspiring actors/actresses? I actually like the Goth couple this season. Just wait and see, because they get along together well, if they can stay out of the bottom 4 through the first few legs, they will be in the final 3. Anyway, CBS hasn't followed my below advice yet, so....I guess they're not reading this Wiki...
I thought it was great to see some of those teams we loved in action again on the Amazing Race: All-Star Edition. How about an Amazing Race: Loser's Edition - select from teams that were eliminated in the first few legs of the previous editions. There have to be plenty of interesting personalities in that group that we never go to know - and hey, who doesn't like giving the underdogs a second chance?
How about letting permanent residents have a go? I have lived in the US for 7 years now and would love to have a go at this - I'm a morning show radio co-host with a great personality and a really hot best friend (who is a US citizen) - we'd make a very popular team! You won't be disappointed! Alicia Anne Hill US Virgin Islands
I just had my hopes and dreams crushed. Worst day of my life. I was reading the eligibility requirements for the amazing race, and I found out you have to be 21 years of age or older. That's messed up. I'm eighteen, but I know, I'm certain that me and my older brother can burn any other couple to the finish. Producers if you read this. Lower the age requirement to eighteen. And you'll have my word that I'll get you some sick ass ratings. Alfonso Andres Reyna (The Emperor) San Diego, CA
International Competitors and Lower Age Requirement I agree with what so many others have said about the International Season. My friend and I are from the Bahamas and are almost 18 and we would LOVE to compete on TAR, I follow all the episodes and I really want to give it a try. I think it would also boost the ratings if international competitors were allowed (people would be more inclined to watch if someone they knew was competing). Also, as someone said earlier the age requirement should be dropped to 18. Jazz2k9
Agreed, get the southern California actors off the show! I posted on this below, but, yes, this season 6 of the teams are from Southern California. One of those was the lesbian ministers, so they don't fall into the "mactor" category, but, still, are production costs that high that they can't afford to look through some of the rest of the entries for attractive couples from across the United States? It's crazy, and I will use feedback link to complain.
No more mactors on TAR!!!Is anyone else tired of all the mactor (model/actor) teams the Amazing Race keeps casting? The race is supposed to be a relationship show. What happened to casting real people, with real relationships and real problems? Mactor teams always seem to fall flat! I think if they casted teams that audiences could relate to--season 13 would be stronger and the ratings would improve. After all--the most popular and memorable teams in past races have NOT been mactors! Let's use the blogging community to do something about it! So if anyone else is tired of mactors dominating TAR -- voice it NOW! You can go to the www.cbs.com main page and click on "feedback." They have a space for feedback on TAR and they say EVERY email is read! Send them a message and if they get enough, maybe the CBS casting crew take our comments to heart when casting TAR 13!
Military Edition?? What about having the people that protect our country take on the world together? Many military members have seen different parts of the world, but have had very little time to actually experience it. What a great break it would give to those who guard our freedom!
Get actors off the show--but not necessarily Californians! I don't have a problem with casting Californians--they should have the same chance of being on the show as anyone else--but I agree, you don't need 5-6 teams from LA! I also have a HUGE problem with the mactor and sloppy casting that went on with AR 12. MANY of the teams were RECRUITED, not selected from the applications. Hendekea and Azaria were recruited (though they are not mactors). As were Jason and Lorena (who are both mactors). But worse than that -- Nathan, Staella, TK, and Rachel WENT TO HIGH SCHOOL TOGETHER.They all knew each other prior to the race (even though they are careful not to let on about it). They all graduated in 2001 (TK in 2002) from Fountain Valley High school. Can we please branch out and pick teams that does not know each other for close to a decade?
Have teams from different countries - USA, Canada, Australia, India, UK, you get the idea. And while I have your attention - no more all stars and no more families please....your loyal following from Victoria, British Columbia.
Have Rob and Amber come back for another race. A lot of people love them and it would make the race a lot better
Have another family race!!! Bring back the Gaghan Familly, especially Carisa and Billy!!
I really think Canadians should be allowed to audition on the U.S. version of the Amazing Race. Canada and the U.S. are so close in culture, geography, and almost every aspect of everyday life, that it's basically the same country (excluding Quebec). I would love to audition for the Amazing Race, and who knows, maybe a few Canadian pairs could make it onto the show. The drama and suspense are the main reasons I watch the show. Sure, the scenery is beautiful, and learning about different cultures great, but if that was my main purpose for watching the show, then I might as well be watching the Discovery Channel. The suspense when a team misses a flight, the drama as teams fight over a taxi, the finger-nail biting moments as the last two teams race to the finish line, those are the reasons I absolutely LOVE the Amazing Race.
AMAZING RACE - THE CELEBRITIES They Should have a Celebrity Amazing Race this would really be a good show to watch! Can you imagine seeing the celebrities racing around the world. This would be so much fun, Producers, think about it. See who you can recruit! Maybe Matt Damon and Ben Affleck and so on. (whoa! If Rob and Amber were stopped by fans, oh gosh can you imagine if they were big time actors) I still Think it would be a good idea. Maybe actors that are not so famous right now. :) You know like the surreal life actors
Have another All-Star Race, but please give us, viewers, a say! Let us vote for them, then, you'll really get a ratings bonanza because those in it will be the winners of the popularity poll.
Big Brother did this (only a much shorter version) for their All-Stars &, I think, that worked out fine & "satisfied" most of us, viewers. Another All-Star Version, but giving us some say as to who, would probably be more appreciated by us, TAR fanatics! So, please give this idea some consideration. I, for one, will appreciate it very much. Thanks! : ) |
All Stars-Loser Edition - Bring back back the teams who came last because they didn't get very long in it & they should get more or you could have 1st & 2nd from each season to make a team of 4 but in season 8 just have the Linz Family
How about a Fans/Favorites edition like what Survivor had done 2 seasons back? 5 or 6 teams of fans square off against 5 or 6 teams of favorites from past seasons of TAR or 11 fans paired up with 11 of their favorites from a past season of The Amazing Race. Better yet, give teams a colored uniform like in the DVD board game. Preferably, colors of the rainbow
Lower the number of dating teams to 1 or 2, at most 3 per season. As soon as I saw that season 12 had 4 dating teams, I knew that one of them was going to win. And I was right. Raise the chances for a F/F team to win, and quit casting dating teams!!!! They always make it to the end, and it is so annoying. And if they don't bicker than it is usually just boring (TK & Rachel). I would like to see these teams get eliminated first. That would be very satisfying.
NO MORE MACTOR TEAMS!!!!!!! CANADIANS WANT TO RACE TO!!!!!!!!! More Bickering/Fighting Teams They Are Funnier To Watch
AMAZING RACE INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS/YOUTHS EDITION??? A lot of youths all around the world love Amazing Race. I think there should be an Amazing Race especially for students or youths like from 14 to 18 years old and it should be open to all nationalities. This could be the perfect platform to try out an international Amazing Race in the future. We could have 2 teams from Europe, 2 teams from Africa, 2 teams from Asia, 2 teams from Oceania and maybe 2/3 teams from the US/Canada/South America.
I would love to see an edition with each team that came in Second Place. I bet that Eric isn't the only one to come in second place who wishes they had another chance. Look at how hungry it made him! Getting eliminated in the 5th leg isn't that big a deal but for those who just missed it I bet it is as haunting for them as Eric described it.
I´m from Costa Rica. I love the race. i would love to race. Why don´t you think for international teams?. You will have diversity range of ethnicity. Other forms of solving task. And where some teams have advantages in others legs of the race they would be in disadvantage. COSTA RICA WANTS TO RACE TOO.
So long as the spirit and core of the game like the roadblocks, detours, yields and travelling are not omitted, I am sure a lot of youths would love to take part in this rather than to wait until they are above 21 years of age. It would be a real eye-opener for them.
They should have teachers/ instructors editions.
HOOSIERS! HOOSIERS! WE WANT MORE HOOSIERS! Yes, I said Hoosiers! Anyone living in Lafayette, Gary, South Bend, Fort Wayne, Leo-Cedarville, Mishawaka, New Haven, Arcola, Waynedale, Columbia City, Churubusco, South Whitley, Auburn, Garrett, Kendallville, Pierceton, Syracuse, Warsaw, Elkhart, Goshen, Angola, Fremont, Roanoke, Woodburn, Wabash, Monroeville, Decatur, Portland, Huntertown, Berne, Zanesville, Markle, Warren, Muncie, or Indianapolis would like to be on The Amazing Race specifically to be famous even if one team doesn't make it all the way to the million dollar finish line. Let some Hoosiers in on the fun besides Tramel Raggs who, if I'm not mistaken, hails from NW Lake County.
18 YEAR OLD AUSSIES WANT TO ENTER. I'D RACE FOR FREE IF I Have THE CHANCE.
ANY AUSSIE TV PERSON MAN PLEASE MAKE AN ALL AUSTRALIAN AMAZING RACE! PLEASE!
The Amazing Race 18: All Stars vs. Second Chances! For the eighteenth season of the race, one team that excelled in the race from each season (Winner - 4th), and one team that was eliminated early but memorable (8th - 12th) This way, two teams from every season (from Amazing Race 12 to Amazing Race 17) will compete again. All Stars - TK & Rachel (TAR12), Toni & Dallas (TAR13),Margie & Luke(TAR14), ___ & ___ (TAR15), ___ & ___ (TAR16), ___ & ___ (TAR17) Second Chances - Lorena & Jason (TAR12), Mark & Bill (TAR13), Linda & Steve? (TAR14), ___ & ___ (TAR15), ___ & ___ (TAR16), ___ & ___ (TAR17) The experiment will show if these second chance teams are strong but were eliminated by a mistake, or if they are just not strong racers. This will separate the good from the bad! That means the choices of teams returning from TAR 15 are Winners Meghan & Cheyne Flight time & Big Easy Brian & Ericka Sam & Dan Second Chances Eric & Lisa Garrett & Jessica Marcy & Ron Zev & Justin Lance & Keri
Have a coed friend/s team on the race like Flo & Zach and Aaron & Arianne. They made their race "memorable" and since Season 3, there has yet to be one of this team.
I suggest having a member from a previous team which was a good racer and memorable (Dustin,Mirna, Uchenna) paired up with a new racer... This may either be good or bad but I have high hopes tht it will be good..
For two seasons, the cast should be focused on one specific aspect tht a team can excel in. E.G. The Cast on one season of the Amazing Race should all be athletic so tht its fair...instead of when theres 4 atheltic teams and the other teams puff out after 100m of running..
It has been said before but make an Australian Amazing Race or one when Australian's can enter and lower the age limit to 18 please
EVER THOUGHT ABOUT TEENS EDITION?!IT'S GOOD! |
MAKE A CANADIAN VERSION!!!!
There are many good ideas here: 1) yes, please allow Canucks to compete it would pull in more North American viewers, more TAR coverage 2) Allow guest team(s) from the country being visited to also compete 3) allow teams to win awards that can used at a later date - except the final two legs - "Non Elimination Card or a Priority Departure Card" 4) remove how teams must travel (fly), make it a free-for-all - "Find YOUR best way to ..." Train, Rent-a-Car, Bus, Hitch-Hike ( yes, I know this could cause problems for the camera team) 5) add some skill testing - give them a map and map co-ordinates, I know many rally teams would love to help 6) i have a ton more but this will have to do MikeandHazel - BC Canada
I think they should allow 2or3 teams with disability.
There should be another All star season.
I think there should be amazing races by relationship! The highest pacing team from every season of the same relationship( parent/child, siblings, dating/married) would compete against one another
I missed the end of the race last night. When will CBS actually learn something from FOX and add a buffer show after football. Why CBS pretends they can get a 3:30 minute football game into 2:45 (3:15 central starting time) is beyond silly. Every other week CBS has the NFL double header. Every other week the sunday shows are delayed until the games end. I adjust my recording accordingly but only by adding 30 minutes. This week they went 40 minutes+ past the starting time. It is just silly to pretend business as usual. Fox added a football recap show to prevent their shows from running into network news times. It really isnt that hard. and the fact they refuse to fix it shows they dont really care if you watch their program or not. I hate 60 minutes. I refuse to watch it. I will not tune in at 7:00 to watch TAR only to be forced to watch the rest of 60 minutes. I watch Desperate Housewives at 8:00 - not because I love the show, but because when I tune in at 8:00, the show is on and I dont like the FOX cartoons. If CBS wants to fix the show, they can start by having it actually start when it is scheduled to start.
How about two person college teams? Yes. they could even be from Canada, Australia, etc.
Having an international race is really cool idea but I think the eligibility requirements should be changed from being 21 or older to just 18. Having younger people who are immature would make more drama and isn't that how you get people to watch your show! And I don't see why theys want you to be 21, it's not like they'll have a challenge that requires you to get plastered in a foreign country.

We Canadians live right above the Americans so why can't we play thier games? I think this is totally unfair and many more Canadians think so too. This also goes for thier survivor and big brother. Why can't we play? We watch all of these reality shows and we all want to be able to play in the games. The Amazing Race goes all over the world so why can't everyone play? My husband and I watch and would love the chance to play, they have all types and cultures of Americans who get to play but never a Canadian couple or any one from around the world.
