Description of my trip: to be fair, it was not the most arduous orof trips. Five of us (friends and family) decided to head to Santorini for a week after a week in London. We stayed just outside Thira which turned out to be quite the boon. We were close enough to walk to town (along a cliff side path with stunning views) but far enough to have peace and quiet. We spent the week zipping around the island in our rented Suzuki, checking out the ruins, the beaches, and sitting on our fabulous deck drinking many a gin and tonic.tonics. It was brutal.

Favorite memories: my cousin was proposed to on the trip and beaming when she returned from dinner with a brilliant diamond engagement ring.

Unexpected detours: Our flights (Olympic Air - notoriously horrendous) were actually on time.

I'll never forget: Turning the corner and seeing the sunset as we approached our hotel.hotel for the first time after two flights from London. I was a little concerned choosing it mostly based off of Internet photos. It did not disapoint.disappoint.
